Among the plants not suitable for aquarium culture yet frequently offered as aquarium plants there are also several Dieffenbachia varieties. When planted submersed, they die off sooner or later and rot away. However, Dieffenbachia species are robust terrarium and house plants that need little light. They can be kept in normal, not too moist potting soil or hydroponic cultivation.
