This plant is a cultivar of Ludwigia inclinata var. verticillata and has tightly spiralling submersed leaves. It is probably a mutation of L. inclinata var. verticillata 'Cuba', which was selected in the aquatic plant nursery of Nguyen Tien Dung (Vietnam), and it came into trade in Singapore, amongst others. In 2010, Tobias Coring imported it to Germany for the first time.
The demands of Ludwigia inclinata var. verticillata 'Curly' are comparable to those of L. inclinata var. verticillata 'Cuba' vergleichbar.
When cultivated emersed, the leaves have a rather oval form, like those of other varieties of L. inclinata, and hardly spiral at all. Then the plant sprouts nice yellow flowers typical of L. inclinata.
