Do the submersed flowers develop into fruits with seeds?
For comparison a pic of emersed Ludwigia palustris with flowers (lacking petals, only the triangular green sepals) and developing fruits: http://zipcodezoo.com/Plants/L/Ludwigia_palustris/
This species produces many fruits with fertile seeds, it's rather an annual plant in the nature (but can be cultivated as perennial).

[edit] OK; it might be that the flowers don't open wide underwater, hardly showing the petals if these are present. But they could be found by removing the sepals (the outer triangular green flower leaves).

so there's not a bit of yellow petals? That would point to Ludwigia palustris. Probably the emersed plant would develop fruits with fertile seeds.

It would be interesting to compare the 'Red' with Italian L. palustris in culture.

Planet Plants führt eine als Ludwigia mini "Super Red", und bei Extraplant wird die (wahrscheinlich) gleiche Pflanze als Ludwigia repens "Super Red" angeboten. Falls auch die mit Lino's Pflanze identisch ist, hat sie botanisch wahrscheinlich mehr mit Ludwigia palustris als mit repens zu tun: http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/foru ... post606357
Falls hier jemand das Buch "Aquarienpflanzen" von C. Kasselmann hat (auch ältere Ausgaben): schaut euch mal das Foto von Ludwigia palustris dort an. Schon sehr ähnlich den oben gezeigten Pflanzen. Zitat aus der Beschreibung (3. Auflage 2010, S. 417): "Werden die Sprosse gut beleuchtet, verzweigen sie sich und färben sich intensiv rot."

I do have Ludwigia Super Red from Olaf (Kiko) and Ludwigia Super Red from Extraplant next to each other in my tank and it looks like it is the same plant after I keep the ones from Extraplant submers for 2 weeks now. Emers they looked completely different.
It also is the same plant than Ludwiga sp. that Tropica just introduced which I have at work to compare to the ones in my tank.
I do have Ludwigia Super Red from Olaf (Kiko) and Ludwigia Super Red from Extraplant next to each other in my tank and it looks like it is the same plant after I keep the ones from Extraplant submers for 2 weeks now. Emers they looked completely different.
It also is the same plant than Ludwiga sp. that Tropica just introduced which I have at work to compare to the ones in my tank.

Wahrscheinlich wird es in Zukunft ein bisschen Verwirrung um die Bezeichnungen geben, habe gesehen, dass die "Rubin" (die sich wirklich von der hier gemeinten "Red" unterscheidet) in einer Gärtnerei unter dem Namen Ludwigia sp. "Red" geführt wird.
Ärgerlich dass ich nicht mehr meine Ludwigia palustris von früher für den Vergleich mit der L. (palustris?) "Red" habe. Die war schon bei etwas weniger als 0,5 W/L satt orangerot und hat sich relativ stark verzweigt.
